Unfortunate day for the shop owner I guess because kitchen took an hour to prep Nyonya laksa even when there was no crowd at the time when we ordered at 1230pm. It didn’t taste authentic but the 1 prawn in it was fresh. Pandan chicken was oily and luckily cincalok eggs were alright.

I really wanted to eat here. Arrived at 10:50am, asked one of the servers if the restaurant’s open and what is the wait time.. he could barely speak english or malay.. none of the staff could communicate clearly. Very frustrating so we left …

Aug 2023 updated review - their prices have gone up a bit but their food and service has improved a lot. We had a reserved tBle and preordered the dishes which cut down on the waiting time. The sambal petai udang and the nyonya tofu was …

Tried peranakan platter, love it! Chicken is juicy, fish well cook, sambal petai also great to eat with the rice. Pai tee is good with the cashew nut with it. If the skin can be crispy then will be perfect. Rojak is flavourful yet refreshing, generous peanut on top of it, keropok finished by the kid as the rojak a bit spicy for kid. The hand wash area can be improved as the design a bit difficult to wash hand. Friendly staff, quiet environment. Will go again to try other food.

I've been coming to NU Sentral for years and finally discovered this amazing Peranakan restaurant. The Sayur Paku was a standout dish - perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Nyonya fried chicken was also delicious. As a Penangite, I have high standards for Peranakan food, and while it was good, I'd give it a 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were great, though. Definitely worth checking out!

Great peranakan food here. Been coming here for lunch for ages. It is also a great place to bring colleagues from abroad and introduce them to nyonya food! The service is fast and we did not have to wait long for food. The dishes are served warm. There is usually a lunch crowd but there are sufficient seating capacity for this.

In case wanna know, Peranakan (or Nyonya) cuisine blends Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian influences, known for its bold flavors and aromatic ingredients like lemongrass, coconut milk, and shrimp paste. The Laksa had a rich, creamy coconut curry broth, perfectly paired with noodles and crispy tofu skin. The Nasi Lemak with Pandan Rice stood out with its fragrant green-hued rice, crispy fried chicken, sambal, and traditional sides—sweet, spicy, and satisfying. The Nasi Goreng was packed with flavor, served with crispy fried chicken wings and crunchy keropok. The Nasi Lemak with Pandan Chicken featured juicy, pandan-wrapped fried chicken, adding a unique aroma to the dish.

Found the food here average. Flavours did not taste complex, but instant. Food did not taste like prepared with love. I may be biased because they don’t serve chicken breast here. All drumstick and thigh 😔 …
