Rado's High-Tech Ceramic Lab is on Level 3 Connection at Pavilion KL, next to Quivo, from 9 to 20 September 2026. Hours follow the mall, 10am to 10pm. Entry is free. Oriental Daily's Perak-to-KL desk is not the point here. The lab is a Bukit Bintang pop-up about how Rado turns ceramic powder into a watch case, timed to 40 years of the material that made the Integral famous.
Pavilion's own offers page listed the lab 9 to 20 September. The boutique you already know is Lot 2.01.04 on Level 2 Fashion Avenue. The lab is one floor up in Connection, the link toward Fahrenheit88, so you can do both in one loop without going back to Jalan Bukit Bintang. If you are in the mall for Tokyo Street or the mooncake counters, this is a 20-minute detour, not a day trip.
What you actually see
The installation walks the 40-year ceramic story, with classic Rado pieces on display and a hands-on path through the material. Staff are there to talk hardness, weight, and why a ceramic bracelet feels colder than steel. Limited souvenirs are on offer while stocks last. That usually means a pouch or a strap-side trinket, not a Captain Cook. Do not go in expecting a discount watch. Go in if you like industrial process more than atrium selfie walls.
Rado Malaysia spent 2026 talking about the Integral 40th and an "Eternal Love" campaign with Nicol David and her father. The Pavilion lab is the public, walk-in version of that anniversary. You do not need a boutique appointment. You may need patience on weekends when Connection is a river of people moving between Pavilion Elite and Fahrenheit88.
How to fit it into a Bukit Bintang afternoon
Bukit Bintang MRT (Kajang Line) drops you under the mall. Come up to Level 3 Connection. If you overshoot into Elite, you have gone too far toward the Jalan Raja Chulan end. Pair the lab with a coffee at illy on the Pavilion side, then walk Fahrenheit88 if you still have the Coach pop-up on your list. Do not try this at 7pm on a Saturday unless you enjoy being stood on.
I would send a watch nerd here. I would not send someone whose Bukit Bintang day is Jalan Alor and a club on Changkat. The lab closes 20 September. After that you are back to the Level 2 boutique, which does not have the powder-to-case walkthrough. Pavilion itself stays open as usual. The lab is the piece with an end date.
If you already walked Discover GuiZhou on Elite Level 9, this is a quieter, smaller room. No folk-street set. Just cases, powder, and a staffer who can explain why ceramic does not scratch like a fashion-watch PVD coating. That is the whole pitch. It is enough if you care. It is skippable if you do not.
No ticket. No timed entry published. If a queue forms, it will be at the souvenir table, not the door.
