Discover GuiZhou at Pavilion Elite ends 8 September

Discover GuiZhou on Level 9 of Pavilion Elite has two days left. The cultural street opened on 8 August and shuts on 8 September 2026. If you have been putting it off, this weekend is the last window inside Bukit Bintang's luxury wing, not a trip to China.

Pavilion KL's own events page is blunt about what sits in the space: horsehair embroidery, wax-resist dyeing, Miao costume displays, rice cake pounding, Guizhou snacks, and tourism panels. That mix is the point. You can watch a craft, try a costume photo, then eat. Hours on the pop-up itself run 12pm to 8pm, which is shorter than the mall. Do not turn up at 9pm and expect the street to still be staffed.

What the last days are actually for

A late-August cultural programme at MH Media Buzz showed the scale when Guizhou Song and Dance Theatre shared a stage with Malaysian performers. Seven local models walked in Miao dress. That was a one-night showcase. The daily street is quieter: embroidery frames, batik-style wax pots, silverwork, and a photo set built around Guizhou landscapes. It is a roadshow, not a museum. Staff rotate demos. Some stations sit idle if a handler is on break. Ask before you touch the silver or the horsehair work. Those pieces are display stock, not souvenirs unless a stall says otherwise.

The shopping hook is separate from the street. From 8 August to 8 September, spend RM250 or more at Pavilion Elite and you can redeem a limited Guizhou fridge magnet or Guizhou pouch at the Connection pop-up on Level 3, while stocks last. Receipts have to be Elite, not a Fashion Avenue haul from the main mall. Connection is the link between Pavilion KL and Pavilion Elite, so the redemption desk is on the walk you already take between the two buildings.

Eat Guizhou without leaving Level 9

Silian Siwawa Guizhou sits on the same floor at lots 9.103.01 and 9.103.02. The stall is a proper tenant, not part of the pop-up calendar, so it stays after 8 September. Pavilion lists it as a silk-wrapped roll kitchen: thin rice skins, shredded vegetables, a sour-spicy dip. Hours there are 10am to 10pm, which is useful if you miss the 8pm street close and still want sour Guizhou flavours. Phone on the mall directory is 010-792 9883. If the pop-up queue for rice cake pounding is long, eat first and loop back. The pounding demo is visual. The rolls are the actual meal.

Guizhou food and tourism displays at Pavilion Elite Level 9

Bukit Bintang MRT on the Kajang Line and Bukit Bintang Monorail both dump you within a short walk of Pavilion's Jalan Bukit Bintang doors. Elite is the taller block on the west side. Take the lifts to Level 9 rather than hunting Centre Court. The street is not in Tokyo Street and not at the Crystal Fountain. I have watched visitors do that loop and lose twenty minutes.

Treat 8 September as a hard stop. Pavilion has not posted an extension. After that date, the Elite reward and the craft stations go with it. Silian stays. The fridge magnet does not.
